KIS-Photo-Me Rolls Out
New PhotoBookPro Album Maker at photokina

Device Automatically Scores, Joins, Folds and Binds Pages into High-Margin Keepsakes

COLOGNE, Germany, 26 September 2006 – KIS/Photo-Me today introduced its new PhotoBookPro at the photokina trade show in the company’s exhibit booth (Hall 10.2, Stand A-050 – C-059). Designed to operate with KIS/Photo-Me “Generation 2 & 3” DKS minilabs, and powered by a variant of the company’s My Creativ’ Album software, the PhotoBookPro automatically scores, joins, folds and binds picture pages into quality photo books up to 8x12 inches in size with hard or soft covers, the company said.

“Our new PhotoBookPro simplifies the on-site production of picture books, calendars, greeting cards and other photo-based keepsakes to painlessly expand the photo retailer’s product offerings and generate new income from these increasingly popular, high-margin items,” said Thierry, President of KIS/Photo-Me Group. “Anyone with My Creativ’ Album software – the retailer at a DKS minilab, or a consumer at a networked kiosk or even at home on their PC – can design a 20-page, 5x7-inch photo book and have it assembled in about three minutes for under 20 Euros.”
The advantages of the PhotoBookPro are numerous, the company said. The entire process – from order and design to binding and delivery – commonly takes less than an hour, compared to several days using other processes, so consumers can shop or run errands while their photo book is being produced. Photo products are produced on real photo paper, not inkjet images on paper stock. All of the background themes, layout templates, text and graphic treatments, editing and other digital embellishments found in My Creativ’ Album are available when using the PhotoBookPro, KIS/Photo-Me said.
Photo books, from 3.5x5 inches to 8x12 inches in size, can include up to 20 two-side sheets displaying up to eight images per page – or up to 160 pictures, the company said. They are produced automatically, while other available offerings, such as calendars and greeting cards, are created in a non-cumbersome semi-automatic production process.
The PhotoBookPro is compact, requiring less than 5.5 square feet of space. Its helps increase the use and productivity of the DKS minilab, allowing retailers to get the most from their capital investment, KIS/Photo-Me said.
The new PhotoBookPro is available now, with pricing and other product information available from KIS USA.
